Microchipping became a mandatory requirement on the 6th of April 2016 for all dogs over 8 weeks of age.  Government are now considering passing similar legislation into law for cats over 20 weeks of age.  There is no doubt that microchipping is the best possible way to reunite a stray animal with their owner.  Implantation is a quick and simple procedure that can be performed at the same time as a vaccine appointment.
